PRESS RELEASE: On Saturday February 12th, 2005, an evening of original and diverse music will be offered at BPM in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The acts range from the duo of Trevor Dunn & Shelley Burgon, the debut of The Monster Project, and other jazz and progressive rock offerings.

Headlining the evening is a collaborative duet consisting of noted harpist Shelley Burgon and bassist Trevor Dunn (of Mr. Bungle, Fantomas and John Zorn's Electric Masada). Featuring both notated and improvised music, they make the most of their distinct combination of instruments by exploring subtle and sometimes barely audible properties of sound.

Preceding them will be the debut performance of The Monster Project, an act that presents avant-garde rock arrangements of monster movie themes soundtrack music. A six-piece with instrumentation ranging from flügelhorn to theremin to bowed bass guitar, set pieces include medleys of slasher movie themes and an extended ode to classic Godzilla music.

The night also features: The Benzene Ring, progressive rock melody-makers; Microtonacity, an unconventional jazz quartet; and the Raoul Björkenheim Trio.

Admission is $10, doors will open shortly before 8pm. BPM is location at 237 Kent Avenue between Grand Street and North 1st Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. For more information, please visit www.themonsterproject.com or call (718) 757-6313.
